This company has been providing astronomers with customised electronic equipment since 1986 for driving telescopes and keeping Sidereal Time. All equipment is designed and manufactured by ourselves in the UK. The designers spend most of their time working as Buckman Hardy Associates, an electronic design consultancy specialising in instrumentation, using analogue, digitial, software and hardware designed on site. The AWR equipment is our own label designed to fill the niche market required by astronomers. Alan Buckman has designed all the AWR equipment and is also Chairman and Instrument Adviser to the South East Kent Astronomical Society.
AWR Technology may be a small company but we have the expertise that you need and are not afraid of offering tailor made solutions. The wide variety of discussions we have daily allow us to improve the product range and know what will work with which telescope. Alan Buckman has been interested in Astronomy since the mid 1960's and is the driving force behind the astronomy products. Alan has an honours degree in Physics and is a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society. Electronics knowledge came with a job at Megger Ltd designing Instrumentation for 10 years before joining in partnership with William Hardy to form Buckman Hardy Associates.
